OLD-FASHIONED APPLE PIE
2 prepared pie crusts (I use Pillsbury)
6 to 7 apples of your choice (peeled and sliced)
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
4 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. butter (for top)

Preheat oven to 400°F. Place one pie-crust into a 9-inch pie pan.

In a large bowl place the sliced apples, add the rest of the ingredients (except butter) and mix well, coating the apples well. Pour the apple mixture into the first pie crust, dot with the butter.

Place second pie crust on top and pinch together with bottom crust. Cut several slits in the top pie crust.

Brush the top with milk and sprinkle with a little sugar.

Bake at 400°F for 45 to 50 minutes.

Note: If edges start to burn, place strips of foil around edges.

Let cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
