MILE HIGH BISCUITS 
3 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1 1/8 c. milk

Combine dry ingredients, cut in shortening. Add eggs and milk all at once. Mix until dough forms a ball. Knead 10-12 times. Roll 3/4 inch thick. Cut, then bake at 475 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
