OLD FASHIONED APPLE PIE | |
9-inch unbaked pie shell 4 lg. Jonathan apples (or other tart apple) 1/3 c. sugar 2 tbsp. flour 1/4 c. water Cinnamon as desired Prepare your favorite pie crust and line pie plate with crust. Peel, core and slice or chop apples and place into unbaked pie shell. Now mix sugar and flour together, mixing well. Sprinkle over apples (if you like cinnamon mix this with the flour and sugar). Cover with top crust and make slits in top of crust, dot with butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes. NOTE: If you prefer, you can make a streusel topping instead of the top crust. TOPPING: 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. flour 2/3 c. butter Mix until crumbled and sprinkle over pie and bake as directed. |
