BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
4 eggs, room temperature
1 c. (2 sticks) butter (room temperature)
3 c. sifted flour
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk

Mix soda in buttermilk right before adding to mixture.

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and mix after each addition. Add almond extract. Add some flour and buttermilk-soda mixture alternating. Blend well. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done.
