AU GRATIN POTATOES WITH
FRANKFURTERS
 
6 med. potatoes
4 tbsp. butter
4 frankfurters, sliced
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 med. onions
3/4 c. milk
Salt
1/4 lb. American cheese

Peel onions and potatoes and slice thin. Melt butter in skillet, add potatoes, onions and frankfurters in layers. Add milk. Cover and cook slowly for 30 minutes. Add salt and pepper 5 minutes before potatoes are done. Just before serving, place thin slices of cheese over top of potatoes, cover, and allow several minutes for cheese to melt. Serve immediately.
