LASAGNA 
2 tbsp. olive oil or salad oil
2 to 3 tbsp. butter
1 c. onion, finely chopped
1 lb. hamburger
4 strips bacon, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
3 tbsp. parsley, chopped
1 tsp. salt
Black pepper for taste
Dash of red pepper
1 sm. can tomato paste
1 lg. can tomato sauce
2 stalks celery, finely chopped
1 sm. carrot, finely chopped

Warm oil and butter. Saute onion until golden. Brown meat and bacon. Add garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook 10 minutes. Add tomato ingredients. Stir well and bring to a boil. Add celery and carrots. Cover and simmer gently at least 1 hour. Cook 8 ounces lasagna noodles 15 minutes, salt water and add 1 tablespoon oil to prevent sticking.

Alternate meat sauce, 1/3 pound Mozzarella, 1/3 pound ricotta (or small curd cottage cheese) and lasagna noodles.
