CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES | |
3 tbsp. butter 4 sq. semi-sweet chocolate (4 oz.) 2 tbsp. butter, softened 1 pkg. cream cheese (3 oz.), softened 1 c. sugar 3 eggs 1 tbsp. flour 2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. walnuts 1/4 tsp. almond extract 1. Melt the 3 tablespoons butter with the chocolate in top of double boiler over hot water. Remove and cool. 2. Grease a 9x9x2 inch baking pan. 3. Blend remaining 2 tablespoons butter with cream cheese in medium size bowl with electric mixer until fluffy. Beat 1/4 cup of the sugar, 1 egg, the 1 tablespoon flour and 1 teaspoon of the vanilla. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 4. Beat remaining 2 eggs in large bowl with electric mixer until foamy. Slowly add 3/4 cup sugar, beating until blended. Stir in the 1/2 cup flour, the baking powder and salt until smooth. Add chocolate mixture, walnuts, 1 teaspoon vanilla and almond extract. 5. Spread half of chocolate mixture evenly in prepared pan. Spread cream cheese mixture on top. Drop spoonfuls of remaining chocolate mixture on top of cream cheese. Swirl top of batter. |
