CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING 
1/2 c. bread crumbs, toasted
1 c. white sugar
2 c. milk
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c. raisins (optional)
1 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Pinch of salt

Scald milk, dissolved sugar in it. When slightly cooled, add butter, beaten eggs, salt and nutmeg. Grease a deep baking dish. Line with bread crumbs. Put raisins over crumbs. Pour custard mixture over all. Set dish in pan of hot water. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce to 350 degrees and bake 20 minutes more.
