PINEAPPLE-UPSIDE CAKE 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 can pineapple slices
Maraschino cherries
1 pkg. vanilla or spice cake mix
1/2 c. walnuts

Heat brown sugar and butter in a 10-inch skillet or layer pan until butter is melted. Arrange pineapple slices on sugar; put a cherry into the center of each slice. Spread walnuts between slices. Make cake according to package directions. Pour carefully over fruit. Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees) about 30 minutes or until cake tests done. Let stand 5 minutes then invert on serving plate.
