OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oats
1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
1 stick butter
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. nuts
1 1/2 c. coconut

Pour boiling water over oats; let cool. In a separate bowl cream 1 stick butter, 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, soda and flour. Add oats. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Melt 1 stick butter; add milk, brown sugar, nuts and coconut. Frost cake with this frosting immediately out of oven. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes until brown.
