PRIZE FUDGE FROSTING 
3 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. corn syrup
2 tbsp. butter
4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients. Stir over very low heat for a minute or two, then cook without stirring to a soft boil stage (234 degrees). Keep covered the first 3 minutes.

Remove from heat; let stand until lukewarm. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, then beat until thick enough to hold shape. When frosting becomes too thick to spread, add a little cream or boiling water (a teaspoon at a time). When too thin, add sifted confectioners sugar.
