VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 tsp. each fennel and basil
1 med. onion, chopped
1 sm. head cabbage, cut in sm. pieces
2 stalks celery, chopped
4 med. potatoes, diced
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen corn or 1 can whole kernel corn (8 oz.)
1 can (8 oz.) peas
1 can (8 oz.) green beans
4 med. carrots, diced
1 can (8 oz.) pinto beans
1 can (8 oz.) black eye peas
1 can (16 oz.) tomato juice
1 can (16 oz.) diced tomatoes
4 lbs. hamburger or smoked or sweet Italian sausage, browned

Brown meat and drain. Boil meat and everything together. "Throw everything in pot and cook to boiling, then simmer until done."
