GINGERBREAD 
4 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white granulated sugar
3/4 c. Brer Rabbit molasses
3/4 c. melted butter
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted 3 times
2 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water

Add sugars, molasses and melted butter to beaten eggs in large bowl. Sift together all dry ingredients except baking soda. Add to egg mixture. Mix baking soda and boiling water and add to mixture last along with the vanilla. Pour into 2-inch deep Pyrex baking dish. Bake at 325 degrees for 30-40 minutes. May serve warm or cold with whipped cream or a sauce, if desired.
