FINNISH (AMERICAN AS) APPLE PIE 
1 1/2 lb. apples, peeled
1 lemon peel, grated
1/2 orange peel, grated
1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. nuts, chopped
6 tbsp. butter
2-inch deep pie crust, prepared (bake 10 minutes) (save top crust)

Mix all ingredients, but apples and butter. Set aside. Layer sliced apples, dry mixture and dots of butter. Repeat once more; two layers total. Put on top crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. (If I remember correctly, it was closer to 60 minutes.)
