PRETZELS
1 tsp. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. honey
1 egg
Kosher salt or sesame seeds

1. Start the yeast growing according to package directions. Then mix the yeast, honey and water. Wait 5 to 10 minutes, until the mixture gets foamy.

2. Mix the unsifted flour and yeast mixture together, a little bit at a time. Keep adding more of each and mixing until the dough is smooth and can be easily stretched. This takes about 5 to 10 minutes. You may have to add a little more flour or warm water as you mix.

3. Make 6 to 8 balls of the mixture, then roll each ball into a long "snake". Shape the "snake" into letters, numbers or any other form you like.

4. Beat the egg and brush it onto the shapes. Sprinkle kosher salt or sesame seeds onto formed pretzels.

5. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet for 10 to 15 minutes in a 425 degree oven. Remove when pretzels are browned but still soft.

This is a fun one for kids of all ages!!
