OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1 stick butter
1 1/4 c. boiling water

Mix, cover and let stand 20 minutes.

1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/3 c. self-rising flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix with oatmeal mixture, bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

TOPPING:

6 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. canned milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. coconut

Put on cake and broil until lightly browned and bubbly.
