1 pkg. reg. dry yeast 1 1/3 c. warm water 3 to 3 1/2 c. flour 3 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 tbsp. honey 1 tsp. salt 1 egg white, slightly beaten Coarse salt or sesame seed Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in 1 cup of flour, oil, honey and tsp. salt. Beat until smooth. Add remaining flour. Soft dough will form. Cover and let rise in warm place about 45 minutes. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Stir dough by beating about 25 strokes. Roll dough around lightly to coat with flour. Roll and shape pieces into a rope about 9 inches long. Add more flour if dough becomes sticky. Put on greased cookie sheet. Brush on egg white and sprinkle on coarse salt or sesame seed. Bake until golden brown about 15 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. |
