MOM'S DATE NUT CAKE 
1 lb. dates
1 lb. pecans
4 eggs
1 c. plain flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. sour milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick soft butter

Sift flour with baking powder and salt into chopped dates and nuts. Mix well. Add sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, milk and butter. Mix well. Fold in beaten egg whites. Grease and line loaf pan with wax paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
