SPICY FRUIT DROPS 
1/2 c. molasses
1/3 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. mace
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
2 1/2 c. mixed candied fruit (approx. 16 oz.)
2 c. coarsely chopped nuts

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix molasses, shortening, sugar and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 1 inch apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes.

Yield about 6 dozen.
