GRANNY BETH'S POUND CAKE | |
3 c. sugar 1 c. Crisco 6 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 3 c. flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda Dash of salt 1 tsp. vanilla 3 tbsp. lemon flavor Cream sugar and Crisco and add eggs. Beat well for 3 minutes. Mix flour, soda and salt together. Add to main mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Beat for at least 3 minutes at top speed. Add vanilla and lemon flavoring. Pour into greased and floured angel food cake pan or bundt pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 to 15 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes before taking out of pan. |
