SWEDISH CRUMB CAKE | |
2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. brown sugar 1 1/2 c. rolled oats 3/4 c. shortening Combine flour, soda, salt, brown sugar and oats. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Press half into buttered 13"x9" pan. Spread with filling, top with remaining crumb mix. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool and cut in bars. FILLING: 1 c. chopped dates 1 c. water 1 c. brown sugar Boil together until thick. Cool and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. |
