HUNGARIAN COFFEE CAKE

1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. shortening
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix to crumb stage. Reserve 1 cup crumbs for topping.

2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. almond extract
