HOMEMADE ROLLS | |
1 1/2 c. lukewarm water 1 pkg. yeast 5 c. plain flour, sifted 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. melted shortening Mix yeast in lukewarm water and add to melted shortening. Add flour, sugar and salt to yeast mixture and mix well. Let stand in refrigerator at least 1 1/2 hours. Then place dough on well-floured surface to knead; roll out and cut. After cutting each roll, fold in half and dip in melted butter. Let rolls stand at room temperature for 1/2 hour before baking. Bake rolls in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown. |
