PUMPKIN BREAD 
2 2/3 c. white sugar
4 eggs, well beaten
2/3 c. shortening
2 c. pumpkin
3 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2/3 c. water
2/3 c. nuts
2/3 c. raisins

Cream shortening and sugar well. Add eggs, pumpkins and water; mix. Sift together flour, baking powder and soda. Salt spices, add to pumpkin mixture. Stir in nuts and raisins. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 2 loaves.
