14 oz. caramels 2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. melted butter 1 c. chopped nuts 6 oz. chocolate chips Cook caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk over low heat until melted. Mix cake mix with butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts. Spread 1/2 cake batter in greased 9 x 13 pan and bake 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Spread chocolate chips over cake. Spread caramel mixture over chips. Spread remaining dough over top. If dough is too stiff, add small amount of evaporated milk. Bake 15 to 20 minutes more. |
