GRANNYS FILLED COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
Preserves

Cream sugars and shortening; add eggs and milk. Add dry ingredients. Chill. Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick. Cut in 1 1/2 inch rounds. Place 1 teaspoon preserves on each 1/2 cookie. Cover with remaining rounds. Tightly press edges together with a fork. With a knife cut crisscross slits in each cookie. Bake 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 5 dozen.

This recipe makes a good cut-out cookie for holidays.
