2 c. sugar 1 c. buttermilk 1/4 tsp. salttsp. baking soda 2 1/2 c. pecans Stir ingredients together. Bring to boil - boil five minutes. Let sugar and milk come to a real good boil before you start timing. Let it just start turning brown. Add 2 1/2 cups pecans and 2 tablespoons butter. Reduce heat to low. Test syrup in cold water. If soft ball forms remove from heat for two minutes. Then stir fast and hard. Try spoonful on cookie sheet, if runs continue stirring. If you stir too long will turn to sugar. |
