FLAN (JULIE'S) | |
1 can condensed milk (use empty can for water) 1 can full of water 5 eggs 1 lg. 8 oz. Philadelphia cream cheese 2 slices sandwich bread minus crust 1 tsp. vanilla 1. Caramelize 8 tablespoons sugar around edges of pan (work fast). Cool. 2. Mix in blender all ingredients (except caramel). 3. Pour caramel into flan pan, then mixed ingredients (after blending). Use bain Marie. Put flan pan into water of larger pan (I use roasting pan from oven for larger pan, square cake pan for flan). 4 When done (test with knife coming out clean) cool to room temperature then refrigerate 3 hours. 5. Heat 1/4 cup dark rum. Flame heated rum, pour over flan in serving dish. |
