1/3 c. sugar 6 beaten eggs 2 (13 oz.) cans evaporated milk 1/2 c. sugar 2 tsp. vanilla Oven at 325 degrees. In a small skillet, heat and stir 1/3 cup sugar over medium heat until melted and golden brown. Quickly pour into 8 inch round baking dish, tilting to coat the entire bottom of dish. Combine beaten eggs, evaporated milk, 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla; mix well with electric mixer. Pour into caramel-coated dish, place dish in large pan and pour 1 inch boiling water into large pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 50 minutes or until a knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Center will be soft. Chill thoroughly. Loosen and invert. Serves 8. |
