LASAGNA 
2 lb. extra lean ground beef
1 lb. Italian sausage (opt.)
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 (16 oz.) cans whole tomatoes, undrained
1 lg. can tomato sauce
1 lg. can tomato paste
2 c. Mozzarella cheese, grated
1 med. size cottage cheese
Dash sugar
Dash oregano
Dash parsley
Dash chili powder
1-2 box lasagna noodles, uncooked

Brown meat and onion; drain. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add tomato ingredients along with sugar and spices. Let cook, uncovered until well blended and thickened. Takes about 30 minutes. Pour 1/3 of recipe in a 9"x13" casserole dish. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, cover with cottage cheese and sprinkle with the other cheeses. Pour on sauce again and repeat the above. End with sauce and cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Serves 8. Let stand 10 minutes for easier serving.
