1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/3 c. Bisquick
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. cut up dates

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 inch square pan. Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, and egg. Stir in Bisquick, nuts, and dates. Spread in pan. Bake 25 minutes. Cool about 1 hour. Cut into squares. Roll in confectioners sugar if desired.
