1 lb. self-rising flour 2 oz. sugar Pinch of salt Optional - a few currants to flavor 5 oz. butter 1 egg 1/4 pt. milk (approx.) Mix sugar, flour, salt and rub in butter. Mix to soft dough with milk and egg (mixture should be slightly sticky). Roll out half an inch, cut with biscuit cutter and bake at 450 degrees for approximately 12-15 minutes. Cut, spread with butter, jam and whipped cream (since we don't have clotted cream). I found using a scale works better than doing equivalent measures. |
