WINTER SALAD 
2 qt. cabbage, shredded
2 green peppers, chopped
2 onions, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
2 carrots, shredded
1 c. vinegar
2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. mustard seed
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. turmeric

Bring vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, salt and turmeric to a boil and pour over other ingredients. Let refrigerate a few hours before serving. May use 1 tablespoon celery seed, if no celery. Note: Keeps in refrigerator for 1 month.
