SOUR CREAM APPLE SQUARES 
2 c. flour (all-purpose)
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. chopped nuts
1 to 2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. dairy sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 c. peeled, finely chopped apples

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine first 3 ingredients, blend at low speed until crumbly. Stir in nuts. Press 2 3/4 cups crumb mixture onto greased 13 x 9 inch pan. To remaining mixture add cinnamon, soda, salt, sour cream, vanilla and egg; blend well. Stir in apples. Spoon evenly over base.

Bake 23 to 35 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into squares. Serve with whipped topping. Makes 12 to 15 squares.
