SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES | |
1 c. soft shortening or butter 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 3/4 c. sifted flour 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Stir in mixture. Roll into balls size of small walnuts. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and roll balls into mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 to 400 degrees. Bake until slightly browned but still soft. They puff up at first then flatten out. Bake 6 to 8 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen small cookies. |
