Top of the Stove Bread Pudding - Recipe

TOP OF THE STOVE BREAD PUDDING

Into top of double boiler put:

1 c. brown sugar
3 or 4 slices buttered bread, cut in sq.

In a bowl beat 2 eggs.

Add:

1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. milk

Mix.

Pour over bread, but do not stir. Put over boiling water. Steam for 1 hour.

The brown sugar makes the sauce for the pudding.

Be sure the water does not boil away from bottom of double boiler.
