MOM'S OATMEAL COOKIES (1930) | |
3/4 c. butter, softened 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar 3 beaten eggs 1/2 c. milk 3 c. quick Quaker oats, uncooked 3 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. salt 2 c. seedless raisins (dark) Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add beaten eggs; beat until blended. Add flour, soda, cinnamon and salt alternately with milk; mix well. Stir in oats and raisins; mix well. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Store in metal containers. May be frozen. |
