HAMBURGER SKILLET PIE | |
1 sm. onion, chopped 1 lb. ground beef 1 can green beans, drained 1 can tomato soup Seasoning to taste Mashed potatoes Cheese slice or grated Potatoes - about 4 peeled, cubed small and boiled until tender in salt water then mashed. Put potatoes on to boil. Be sure to dice small, so they get done faster. Meanwhile, fry hamburger and onion together in iron skillet (make sure skillet is big enough to allow for other ingredients). When browned, add beans and soup (I use a little salt and pepper). Put slices of cheese on top of meat mixture. Top with mashed potatoes. Spread potatoes out toward edges. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. I garnish top with sandwich cheese slices, cut in triangles. Put on just before done. Serve right out of the skillet (cast iron). Note: Make mashed potatoes the regular way, with butter, milk, salt and pepper. This is my favorite casserole. It is easy to make and doesn't take long. |
