WALNUT CRESCENT COOKIES 
2 cups flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup chopped walnuts
Some confectioner's sugar to roll cookies in

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Put flour and salt in gradually. Add vanilla and nuts. Chill dough. Shape into crescents and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 15-18 minutes until edges are very slightly browned. While cookies are still warm, roll in confectioner's sugar.

This was the favorite Christmas cookie, year after year, in our family.
