HONEY WHEAT BREAD 
1 tbsp. dry yeast
1 c. warm water
1/4 c. honey
1 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. hot milk
3 c. whole wheat flour
1 or 2 c. white unbleached flour

Soften yeast in 1 cup warm water and set aside. Combine honey, salt, shortening, hot milk and whole wheat flour and mix well. Add yeast mixture and mix again. Add 1 to 2 cups white flour and knead for 10 minutes. Form into loaves and let rise until doubled in bulk (2 loaves). Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Lower temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 15 more minutes.
