SPRINGYS (Italian Donuts) 
1 lb. Wondra flour (4 c.)
1/4 c. sugar
4 tbsp. butter, oil or shortening
1/2 c. water
2-3 tbsp. orange juice (fresh orange)
2 eggs
1 tsp. anise
1 pkg. yeast

Put yeast in warm water. Put flour in a big bowl and make hole in middle. Put eggs, salt, shortening, orange juice, anise and yeast in with flour. Add 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Stir around. Add more water. Beat and let rise double in size then beat some more. Deep fry as for donuts. Roll in granulated sugar.
