CHOCOLATE SYRUP CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 lb. can chocolate syrup
1 c. + 1 tbsp. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream together butter and sugar; add eggs, chocolate syrup, flour, baking powder, salt, soda and nuts. Pour into 13"x9" greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
5 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. milk

Bring to rolling boil (stirring). Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Pour over cake as soon as cake is removed from oven.
