These cookies are absolutely yummy. I added some leftover pumpkin pie filling to the batter to give it a little pop of flavor and they were divine :)

OK are y'all ready for this! I added the water and baking powder as suggested along with a 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 2 tsp of nutmeg and 2 tables spoons of oil. Talk about Christmas, it is delicious! They almost taste like teacakes, if you know what those are. This is a keeper!

My family's vegetarian so this worked out amazingly well. I added only a tbsp. of cocoa so it would have a hint of chocolates and I put in choco chips. AMAZING!

Make them into small balls, flatten them a bit, and jam a frozen cranberry into the center of each one just before sticking in the oven. Lovely!

Oh, man!!!
My 5-yr-old really wanted to make cookies, but I didn't have any eggs or baking soda, so I tried out this recipe. I also didn't have vanilla, so instead I put in some cinnamon, ginger, all-spice, honey, syrup, and raisins, and I substituted 2tsp water for the 1 tsp water and 1/2 tsp vanilla. They came out more like rolls, but they are AMAZING! I'm 6 months pregnant, and now I have a new way to take care of last-minute cravings without having to go to the grocery store. Smooth, savory raisin rolls!

Great recipe except I added 1 tsp baking powder, 3 tbsp. brown sugar, about 3 tbsp. water, than I rolled in cinnamon/sugar turned out fluffy, crisp flaky outer shell, nice and moist PERFECT =) oh and its 2 sticks of butter... Cook until just golden brown.

They were great. I added some extra vanilla, extra sugar, 1 tsp of baking powder, used rum instead of water, and rolled the balls in sugar.... I guess that's pretty much a completely different recipe, but never-the-less delicious.

Ok me and my boyfriend just made a batch of these cookies and they are in the oven as we speak. We altered the recipe by adding 4 tbsp of brown sugar, 1/8 tsp of almond extract and 3/4 cups of coconut.... Ok so they are out of the oven... and ooooommmmmgggg sooo yummy!

I've never really baked before (well, at least not with very much success) but your recipe worked out really well! I feel pretty close to culinary goddess. (i did have to tweak the amounts of water as well as sugar, but that is pretty subjective.) either way, many thanks!

I used half white sugar half brown....yummy! I also pulled half aside and added white chocolate chips and peppermint flavoring. Dip them in green tea and it's delicious!

These were wonderful. I substituted almond flavoring added the tsp. of baking soda and they came out perfectly. It does still need a little more water than listed.
