TEXAS HASH 
2 lg. onions, sliced
2 green peppers, cut fine
3 tbsp. shortening
1 lb. hamburger
2 c. canned tomatoes
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper

Cook onions and green pepper in shortening until onions turn yellow. Add meat and stir until mixture falls apart. Add tomatoes, rice and seasoning. Arrange in a casserole, cover, and bake in oven (375 degrees) for 45 minutes.
