CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 egg
2 c. uncooked oatmeal
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 pkg. Betty Crocker chocolate fudge supreme cake mix
1/2 c. softened butter
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed

Beat egg, water, butter, shortening, sugar and half of dry cake mix until smooth. Stir in remaining cake mix, oats, chocolate and nuts. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes in preheated 375 degree oven. Cool before removing from baking sheet. Makes about 6 dozen.
