FRIED OKRA 
1 qt. fresh okra slices
1/4 c. cornmeal
2 tbsp. water
1/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. salt

Place skillet over medium or low heat, pour in oil. Put in okra and sprinkle cornmeal over okra; add water. Place a tight fitting lid on for the 10 minutes and let steam. After the first 10 minutes stir and turn frequently as this burns easily. Allow at least 30 minutes for cooking time, as it cannot be hurried.
