BAKED ACORN SQUASH 
Acorn squash (about 3/4 lb.) - 1/2 for each serving
1 pat butter (for each serving)
1 tsp. maple syrup or orange marmalade (for each serving)

Wash and split squash. Scoop out seeds and springs. Place open face down in foil lined baking dish. Bake at 300 degrees for 1/2 hour. Carefully turn over and butter and syrup or marmalade to each half. Return to oven, open face up for another 20 minutes. Serve in shell. Great with ham steak!
