APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter
2 c. water
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening

Simmer together in saucepan for 5 minutes: 2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 cups water. Add 1/4 cup butter. Set aside.

Mix together 2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt and 3/4 cups shortening. Add enough milk to moisten. Roll and cut into 5 inch squares. Fill with apples. Grease pan. Pour sauce over each dumpling. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.
