Favorite pie crust recipe, 2 crusts
12 golden delicious Jonathan cooking apples
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
1/4 c. butter

Roll out pie crust a little thinner than for a pie. Cut into squares approximately 6 inch square (10 to 12 squares). Peel and core apples and place each on a pie crust square. Fill the apple core hole with the mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Top with a piece of butter. Fold the pie crust points together at the top of the apple and seal edges by pinching together. Put on an ungreased baking dish and bake at 375 degrees until golden brown.

FOAMY SAUCE:

1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. confectioners sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

In a separate pan mix up the foamy sauce by melting butter and adding sugar. Beat or whip in egg and vanilla. Let simmer before using.

Serve apple dumpling in a dish and cover with foamy sauce.
