APPLE DUMPLINGS WITH SAUCE 
4 apples, peeled & cored
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. Crisco

Add enough milk to make dough. Roll about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares. Put an apple in the center of each square. Fill center of apples with 1 teaspoon brown sugar and cinnamon. Dot with butter. Moisten edges of pastry, gather up and pinch together sealing the apple in. Put in baking dish. Pour sauce over dumplings and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

SAUCE:

Mix together:

1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. hot water
1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. butter

Pour sauce over dumplings and bake.
